Welcome to our home.
We're a private, family-run farm in Newtonville, Ontario, and we welcome visitors all year long. Because this is our home (not a commercial attraction) every visit is personal. You'll have the opportunity to step behind the fences, meet our animals up close, hear their individual stories, and experience farm life in a way that's authentic, relaxed, and unforgettable.
Whether you're visiting with family, planning a date, celebrating a special occasion, or simply looking for a peaceful escape, we have an experience that's right for you.
Your New Farm Friends Are Waiting
Our guided Full farm tour is the best way to experience everything Mini Cow Canada has to offer.
You'll meet every member of our animal family, including our miniature Highland cows, Valais sheep, Kunekune pigs, Silkie chickens, Kevin the peacock, and of course Philomena the turkey. Along the way, we'll introduce you to each animal by name and teach you about the breeds we raise.
This isn't a tour where you're standing on the other side of a fence. You'll step into the pastures, interact with the animals, ask questions, take photos, and enjoy plenty of hands-on moments.
There's nothing quite like spending time with a miniature highland calf.
Our Calf Cuddle experience gives you the opportunity to get up close with our youngest members of the herd. Depending on the season and the age of our calves, you'll have the chance to pet, cuddle, and capture plenty of photos together.
Every calf has a unique personality, and one of our favourite parts of the experience is watching visitors fall in love with them just as quickly as we did.
If you have an idea, we'd love to hear it. Some of our favourite memories have come from experiences that were completely unique.
We've welcomed surprise proposals, hosted meaningful visits for autistic children, spent quiet afternoons with cancer patients, and created personalized experiences for families celebrating special milestones.
Whether you're planning a birthday, anniversary, photography session, therapeutic visit, or something completely different, we're always happy to work with you to create a memorable experience.
Because Mini Cow Canada is our private family home, we do not have public hours and all visits are by appointment only.
To book a visit, simply send us a message letting us know what type of experience you're interested in. From there, I’ll connect you with my mother-in-law Caroline, who coordinates all of our farm visits. She'll help answer your questions, find a date that works, and make sure your visit is perfectly planned.

Once we receive your inquiry, we’ll connect you with Caroline, who coordinates all of our farm visits. She’ll help answer your questions, discuss the different experiences we offer, and find a date and time that works for you.
Because Mini Cow Canada is a family-run farm and we both work full-time corporate jobs while raising our family, we don’t have traditional “open hours.” Our visits are scheduled around our work and family commitments, so available times can vary from day to day and may fall within flexible hours rather than a standard schedule.
We also typically schedule visits back-to-back. This allows our animals to enjoy plenty of special time with our guests, followed by the rest of their day to relax, roam and simply be animals.
Every visit is by appointment only, which allows us to provide a personal experience for every guest while also making sure our animals and family have the time and space they need.

How do I book a visit?
We're located in Newtonville, Ontario, just a few minutes from the Highway 401 Newtonville Road exit, making us an easy drive from Toronto, Durham Region, Peterborough, and surrounding areas.
Because Mini Cow Canada is our private family home, we don't publish our address online or have public visiting hours.
Once your private visit has been confirmed, we'll send you our address along with everything you need to know before your visit.

Where are you located?
What if i am early or late for my appointment?

We ask that guests arrive as close to their scheduled appointment time as possible, as our farm visits are scheduled back-to-back. This helps us keep the day running smoothly while making sure each group gets dedicated time with our animals.
Arriving early: We completely understand that many of our guests are travelling from a distance and may want to give themselves extra time for the drive. If you arrive early, please remain near your vehicle until we come out to greet you and begin your experience. We cannot have guests wandering around the farm unsupervised, as this is our private family home and working farm.
If you have extra time before your appointment, there is a convenience store just down the road, or you can take a short drive into Newcastle, which is just one town over, and grab a coffee or explore the area.
Running late: We understand that sometimes things happen! If you know you’re going to be late, please message us as soon as possible to let us know. We will always do our absolute best to accommodate you and provide your full experience, including adjusting the schedule or making changes to the visit where possible.
Because our visits are often booked back-to-back, however, we cannot guarantee that we’ll be able to extend your appointment if you arrive late. The earlier you let us know, the more we can do to help!

Every visit to Mini Cow Canada is unique because every one of our animals has their own personality.
Our Full Farm Visit gives you the opportunity to meet all of the animals on the farm and enjoy an interactive experience that's much more personal than public farm or petting zoo.
Throughout the year, we also offer specialty experiences—such as Calf Cuddles - that focus on spending extra time with specific animals.
Because our animals' wellbeing always comes first, we can't guarantee that a particular animal will want to cuddle, pose for photos, or interact in a certain way on the day of your visit. Just like people, they have different moods from day to day.
We'll always do our very best to create a memorable experience and encourage natural interactions, but we ask guests to understand that every visit is different - and that's part of what makes it so special.
We understand that plans can change, and we'll always do our best to work with you.
If we need to cancel your visit, you'll receive a full refund or have the option to reschedule.
If weather makes it unsafe or unsuitable to visit, we'll contact you to arrange a new date that works for everyone.
If you're unable to make your scheduled appointment, we'll do our best to reschedule your visit for a future date.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of your scheduled visit are non-refundable, and we cannot guarantee that we'll be able to accommodate a new booking date.
If you have any questions or unexpected circumstances arise, please reach out as soon as possible. We're always happy to work with our guests whenever we can.

Are we able to walk around the farm after our experience ends?
For the safety and privacy of our family, guests are not able to explore the farm unsupervised after their scheduled experience ends. Mini Cow Canada is a private family farm and home, not a public attraction or open farm. All visits are guided and take place within the areas designated for your experience.
We understand that many of our guests travel a fair distance to visit us, and we know you’ll want to make the most of your trip to our quaint little town! We’re always happy to recommend other local attractions, shops, restaurants and things to do nearby so you can turn your visit into a fun day trip with family and friends.
Do you have a bathroom I can use when I arrive?
Unfortunately, we do not have public restroom facilities available for guests. Mini Cow Canada is also our private family home, where we live with our children, so we’re unable to accommodate visitors inside our home. We want to maintain a safe, private space where our kids can enjoy their home and family life without having guests coming in and out.
We recommend stopping at a restroom before arriving for your experience. There is a Tim Hortons in Newcastle, just about 5 minutes from the farm, where you can make a quick stop before your scheduled visit.
Can I bring my dog, cat, or other pet?
As animal lovers ourselves, we completely understand wanting to bring your furry family member along! Unfortunately, we’re unable to allow outside dogs, cats or other pets on the property during your visit.
Because we have livestock on the farm, we can’t predict how they may react to an unfamiliar animal, even if your pet is friendly or well-behaved. For the safety and wellbeing of both your pet and our animals, we need to keep outside pets at home during farm visits.
